Exercises

On this page, our Physiotherapists at Pure have worked collaboratively to compile a series of exercise rehabilitation plans which we recommend performing at home for help with your recovery.

The exercises are categorised in to different stages based on the current symptoms you are experiencing and the level of progress you have made in your recovery and rehabilitation journey. Please be aware these exercises are pitched at the ‘stiff’ shoulder. We recommend that you push relatively firmly in to discomfort with these exercises as it is essential for stretching the affected tissues.

The early programme aims to increase flexibility and functional range of motion, with exercises that allow you to control the movement using external assistance. The intermediate plan introduces more active movement where the muscles and tendons are working harder, coupled with a firm stretch for the soft tissues in the chest & anterior shoulder. The advanced plan aims to strengthen the rotator cuff and prime mover muscles. This programme also includes two more aggressive stretches for achieving full functional range of movement.

If you experience continual worsening of pain/symptoms whilst performing any prescribed exercises, we recommended that you stop and contact your Physiotherapist.
